Altered States - Library Induction and Contact Sheets

On Tuesday we had two more tasks other than animating our GIFs- learning to create Contact Sheets and a Library Induction.

The first thing that I did was the library induction. Given my risk assessment and recent changes to it, I was allowed to access the physical library for the very first time. It seems like a very nice place to do research in, so I can see myself using its resources in the future. I was taught how to use the online library services, how to identify whether a book was in the campus library, how to locate it and how to borrow it.

After the induction, I was shown how to create a contact sheet in Photoshop.

A contact sheet is an easy way to skim over thumbnail sized images covering an entire photoshoot in order for the photographer to decide which photos they like and would like to keep.

For my first contact sheets, I used a relatively large photoshoot I did a while ago of the flowers in my Auntie's garden.

I will most definitely be making Contact Sheets for my future photoshoots and dropping them in the same folder as the shoot, as it will make my life a lot easier. I love how easy Photoshop makes it to put one together.

An absolute riot of colour, I can see why a contact sheet is necessary.

How lovely 😃 I used to do contact sheets when I did black and white photography. My Favourite are 1854.JPGto 1856.JPG I just love the colours and geometric structure of the Dahlias. 😃 You can't beat the vivid colour 1886.JPEG to 1889.JPEG of the Lillies 😃
