The next thing that my group looked at was story and narrative.
We were given storyboard sheets so that anyone with a story to their project could explore the differences between linear and non linear narratives. Since I'm making the concept for an open world game rather than a linear game or a film with one solid plot line, I used the storyboard task a little differently to benefit my development process.
I used the panels of the storyboard to sketch out very loosely, more figuratively, my ideas at that point. I sketched out some environments that I had in mind to properly develop later, as well as a few smaller aspects of my main character design so that I could explore different ideas, mixing and matching them to create the perfect combination.

I photocopied my storyboard and cut all of the panels out. I discarded the environmental sketches from this aspect of the task, instead focusing on my character's design. I thought about each panel, removing them one by one until I was left with one perfect set of elements.

I removed the crystal sunflower design first as it just didn't seem to fit with anything else.

I removed the heaviest armour set, deciding I should focus on mobility.

I removed the lightest armour set and the sword design with the orb in the handle, wanting to head more towards practicality.

I chose this orb design over the other as I felt it was more visually interesting and magical.

I removed the sword design with the petals incorporated into the blade as it would mean the blade would glow, and I didn't particularly want it to look like a lightsaber, as cool as they may be.

With this, I had combined my ideas into the perfect set of elements to start designing my character.
